William Jebor’s brace and a goal from Anthony Laffor helped Liberia defeat Guinea Bissau 3-1 on Tuesday evening in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers at Estádio Nacional 24 de Setembro in Bissau.

The visitors came with a purpose and they netted first through the South African-based winger Laffor as early as the eighth minute.

With the hosts seemingly a bit asleep, Liberia doubled their lead when Jebor doubled netted four minutes later.

The hosts made strides to bounce back into the game and pulled one back courtesy of Cassama Braima on the stroke of half time but it was not enough.

In the second half, Jebor completed his brace in the dying minutes of the match to hand the Liberians a convincing win.

Liberia wins 4-2 on aggregate following their 1-1 stalemate last week and they’re scheduled to face current CAF Africa Cup of Nations holders Cote d’Ivoire in the next round.
