A solitary goal from Adam Ennaffati handed FUS Rabat a slender 1-0 win over Al Ahly Tripoli in a Group B, CAF Confederations Cup match at the Prince Moulay Abdallah stadium on Sunday night.
It was the first game in Group B for both sides as the win sees FUS Rabat into second place on the standings with three points after Kawkab Marrakech beat Etoile Sahel 2-1 in the other group game.
It was a slow start to the game with both sides squandering possession due to some poor decision making and bad passing in the final third.
As the match progressed the home side slowly took control of the game and began mounting the pressure, but neither team could find a goal in the opening half.
FUS Rabat finally made their dominance pay two minutes into the second half after a strike from Adam Ennaffati handed them the lead, 1-0.
Al Ahly Tripoli tried to find their way back into the game, but struggled to break down a resolute FUS Rabat defence.
In the end the Moroccan side held on for the win and crucial three points.
Al Ahly Tripoli are next in action in the CAF Confederations cup on June 28 against Kawkab Marrakech at home while FUS Rabat are away to Etoile Sahel on June 29.
