Both sides created good goal scoring opportunities towards the half-time break - Morocco striker Youssef El Arabi missed the target from close range.
While Gabon midfielder Guelor Kanga unleashed a powerful shot which narrowly missed the target just before the half-time break.
Youssef El Nesyri, who had replaced El Arabi at half-time, pulled the trigger from range seven minutes into the second-half and his attempt missed the target.
Gabon captain and striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was guilty for missing two chances towards the end of the Group C encounter.
In the end, Morocco stood firm at the back and the match ended in a goalless draw on the evening.
