Two goals from Mohamed Fouzair and Ayoub Skouma ensured FUS Rabat edged Club Africain 2-1 in their CAF Confederation Cup, Group A match at Stade du FUS in Rabat on Friday.
The Moroccan side now have six points at number one in the group from two wins and one loss, and they will now hope to win their match against the Tunisian (Africain) side away on June 20.
On the other hand, Africain found the back of the net through Ibrahim Chenihi who proved to be a headache for the hosts' defence.
Although the visitors had a bright start, Chenihi failed to take advantage of their dominance after 10 minutes when he missed the target.
However, nine minutes later, he made amends as he netted after a beautiful assist through Saber Khalifa when he made it 1-0 in the 19th minute.
Despite their continued dominanc Africain failed to convert their chances and the Tunisian side went to the interval leading 1-0.
However, in the 52nd minute the hosts were handed a penalty and Fouzair made no mistake to convert, ensuring the scores were level, 1-1.
Although the match looked to be heaheading for a draw, Skouma bagged a winner in injury time for the hosts as he finished a chance to make it 2-1.
Despite the loss, Africain occupy the second spot with three points from two losses against Rabat and Uganda's KCCA as well as one win over Rivers United.
However, they will hope to retain the full three points at home in two weeks time when they host Rabat in Rades.
