Newly appointed Sam Ssimbwa will make his debut as Head Coach of SC Villa this afternoon as he leads his team against URA FC at the Mityana Ground.

The former Uganda Cranes winger and assistant coach was appointed on Wednesday after Steven Bogere was axed. “I have what it takes to lead SC Villa to achieve a lot and the journey starts today,” Ssimbwa told AfricanFootball.com.

SC Villa, Uganda’s most decorated club are third on the log after two wins and one defeat they suffered to table leaders Police FC on Tuesday. The team will look to lead scorer who was also invited on the Cranes team Karim Ndugwa, Steven Bengo and Hassan Mawanda Wasswa.

But the Ugandan Cup holders URA FC who are in 13th place are expected to come all out to try and register their first win of the season since they have only managed two draws. National team players Robert Ssentongo and skipper Saidi Kyeyune will lead the URA FC.

Table leaders Police FC who have showed good form will be away to troubled Kiira Young FC. “We want to continue with this good momentum and keep the lead on the table. We have a good team and the boys are determined to perform well this season,” said Coach Angelo Lonyesi.

In Jinja, Bidco FC Coach Kefa Kisaala will be hoping that his newly recruited striker Yusuf Kinene can finally get his name on the score sheet when they host army side Simba FC. The other match on card will see newly promoted Sadolin Paints face Express FC.
