Nigeria Olympic team said they hope their heart-warming 1-0 win over Rio Olympics hosts Brazil will boost the Super Eagles to fly past Egypt in an all-important AFCON qualifier today.

Against most expectations, an experimental Nigeria Dream Team VI pipped Brazil Olympic team 1-0 Friday morning.

“It was a good win for us and we hope that this will boost the Super Eagles in their match against Egypt,” said Belgium-based midfielder Sodiq Popoola, who impressed in the friendly game.

“We have started a good thing and we hope the Eagles continue it against Egypt,” added striker Imoh Ezekiel, who started the game ahead of Junior Ajayi even with a broken jaw and jet lag.

Olympic internationals Stanley Amuzie, Azubuike Okechukwu and Oghenekaro Etebo are on the Super Eagles squad for a must-win game against Egypt.
