Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) international striker Cedric Bakambu was frustrated by the Eibar defence over the weekend.
Bakambu and his Villarreal teammates locked horns with Eibar in the Spanish La Liga game played at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurúa in Eibar on Sunday.
The visitors opened the scoring four minutes before half-time and they were leading 1-0 during the break in front of over 4,000 fans.
However, Eibar scored twice in the late stages of the game to seal a 2-1 victory over Villarreal who suffered their first league defeat of the season.
Bakambu, who sustained an injury at the start of the season which kept him out for over a month, has netted two goals in four league matches.
The defeat left Villarreal placed fifth on the Spanish La Liga standings with 19 points - five behind log leaders Real Madrid.
