Ex-Eaglets forward Kingsley Michael, has said he is thrilled he is already training with the Bologna first-team.

Michael has signed a pre-contract with the Italian Serie A club and will sign a professional deal when he is 18 on August 26, 2017.

“I am very happy, but I am still a work in progress,” said the exciting youngster, who has also been capped at U20 level by Nigeria.

“I am doing well now after I was pushed from training with the second team to the first team.

“All the top stars are friendly and they have been encouraging me.

“I hope that as soon as I am 18, I will make my debut for Bologna.”

Michael’s Eaglets teammate Orji Okoronkwo is in line to make his own debut for Bologna on Sunday at home against Palermo.

Michael said he is not surprised because Okoronkwo has shone with the youth team.

“He has been doing very well and scoring goals with the Primavera and so I am not surprised,” he said.

“He has already settled down in Italy and he is my interpreter for now.”

Michael also praised his agents Danny Shittu and Kingsley Olaniran, describing them as part of his family.

He is presently nursing a hand injury, but he is set to return to Italy in January.
