The Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (COSAFA) have confirmed that Sudan will participate in the 2016 Under-20 COSAFA tournament.
This was after Namibia withdrew from the competition due to financial constraints and they have since been replaced by the East African nation.
The youth tournament will take place from 7-16 December in South Africa and Sudan are in Group C along with Angola, Mauritius as well as Seychelles.
“We are obviously disappointed that Namibia will not be competing at the 2016 COSAFA Under-20 Championships but understand their reasons for withdrawing from the competition.
"We are delighted to welcome a team of the calibre of Sudan though and we are sure they will put on quite a show for fans. Sudan have proven themselves to be a quality team at Under-20 and senior national team level and we are sure they will be among the front-runners for the title,” says the chairman of COSAFA's Competitions Committee, Timothy Shongwe.
Sudan are also in Group B at the 2017 U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals where they will take on COSAFA's South Africa, Cameroon and Senegal.
