Wikki Tourists came from behind to beat 10-man FC IfeanyiUbah 2-1 Wednesday in the opening match of the NPFL Super 4 in Enugu.
Wikki were the better team in the first half, but ‘Anambra Warriors’ IfeanyiUbah were more dominant after the break.
Both teams will represent Nigeria in next year's CAF Confederation Cup.
Yaya Kone gave IfeanyiUbah the lead from the penalty spot in the 57th
minute after defender Musa Abdullahi fouled King Osanga inside the box.
Wikki drew level in the 84th
minute, when striker Shamah Tanze belted home from the edge of the box.
In stoppage time, Wikki ace Musa Abdullahi fired home the match winner from inside the box.
IfeanyiUbah defender Onyedikachi Akakem was sent off in the 61st
minute after his second booking.
The first half was goalless even though both teams created chances.
Awakem made a goalline clearance off Mubarak Umar after just five minutes.
A minute later, King Osanga was denied from point blank range by Wikki goalkeeper Emeka Nwabulu.
In the 22nd
minute, Ivorian goalkeeper Idrissa Bamba dealt brilliantly with a cross from the left to keep out Wikki, who enjoyed more of the possession.
Just before the interval, the lively Tanze had the best chance of this half when he dashed free into the box, but chose to pass to Bature Yaro, who was on an offside position, when he would have done to shoot at goal.
