Gabriel Wassa claims Spanish interest after Rivers United tour

Rivers United defender Gabriel Wassa has said he has interested a number of clubs in Spain while his new club were on a training tour there.

“Some clubs approached me in Spain, but my agent will know better,” disclosed Wassa, who has joined Rivers United from Niger Tornadoes ahead of the new season.

“I wish to move overseas, but that depends on my club as well my agent.

“To play in Spain will be mind-blowing for me. And that is why I am still working hard to improve, good enough I am a fast leaner and I hope to be a better player.”

It is understood that the other Rivers United stars who caught the eye on Spain were Ivorian striker Guy Kuemian and right fullback Ifeanyi Nweke.

Rivers United beat Villarreal Academy team 1-0, before they were held to a 3-3 draw by CD Roda during their training stint in Spain this month.
