Defender Ugwu Uwadiegwu has said he is pleased to return to Rangers after he opted not to join Abia Warriors.

Uwadiegwu has been in the training camp of Abia Warriors in the past one month after he quit Enyimba.

However, the Nigeria champions have now snapped up the left fullback.

"I am now a Rangers player. I have signed for ‘The Flying Antelopes,” Uwadiegwu disclosed.

"I did not have enough playing time in Enyimba last season, but I hope to work hard and have more regular time in my new club.

“Rangers are more competitive and I like competition and I believe I will contribute my own quota to my new club.”

He said he will be at home at his old club.

"I have many friends in this club so I will definitely feel at home. Don't also forget Rangers were my former club I have played there, before moving to Enyimba, where I spent close to eight seasons,” he said.
