USA U23 star Toni Payne, who has opted to change her international allegiance to Nigeria, has revealed she hopes to be picked in the National Women’s Soccer League Draft.
This year’s Draft is scheduled for January 15 in Baltimore, Maryland.
The final year student of political science at Duke University North Carolina said she hopes to turn professional in May.
“I am in the draft for the National Women’s Soccer League and hopefully I will be picked in the first or second round,” she disclosed.
She has also said she is on the look-out for a chance in Europe.
Last year, the daring centre-forward or attacking midfielder inspired Duke to reach the final of the NCAA, where they lost by the odd goal to Penn State University.
She has also represented US at the FIFA U17 World Cup and she is currently with that country’s U23 team.
