Guinea national team co-ordinator Caito Balde says they will do well in Gabon as he banks on the quality in their team.
The Syli Nationale will make their debut in the 2017 CAF Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon and will hope to draw inspiration from Portugal in the 2016 EURO tournament in France.
Although they had issues with the football association regarding appearance fees from the qualifying campaign, Balde said they have been settled.
“Portugal is an inspiration to us for what they did at the Euro 2016 in France. Many of the players in the Guinea Bissau team have played with many of those players who have now become champions of Europe,” said Balde.

“They have passed through the best training school that is Portugal and will look to show that at the Nations Cup.
“We called up some players who made a commitment that they would play, but at the last minute they went back on their word.
"We have assembled the best players from Guinea. They have been carefully selected.”
Meanwhile, it is still unknown if a warm-up friendly will be organised for the team before they depart for Libreville next week.
