Anthony Yiadom says he is happy to be called into Ghana’s preliminary 2017 Africa Cup of Nations squad.
The youngster was handed his first call-up to the Black Stars in November ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Egypt, though he didn’t play in the 2-0 loss in Alexandria.
Nonetheless, the chance to claim a spot in Ghana’s final 23-man 2017 AFCON squad has the Barnsley player very excited.
“It’s very good to be included," Yiadom said after being named in the 26-man provisional squad for the tournament, as quoted by GHANASoccernet.
"I went away with them last time which was a great experience. I was on the bench and didn’t get to play but it was a great experience.
"There are more games in the African Cup of Nations, so fingers crossed - I can get some minutes.
“I’m fortunate to be doing okay and playing for Barnsley week in week out, so I am fortunate to get called up."
