Ghana defender Jonathan Mensah will play his club football with MLS side Columbus Crew after completing a transfer from his Russian club, according to GHANASoccernet.

The centre-back completed the move while on duty with the Black Stars in their UAE training camp ahead of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

The deal was reportedly finalised on Tuesday when Crew came to an agreement with Mensah’s Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala.

The powerfully-built defender will join compatriot Harrison Afful, who has become a key part of the MLS side since joining two years ago.

Mensah, who has over 50 caps for Ghana under his belt, has also represented AshantiGold, Free State Stars, Udinese, Granada and Evian in his club career.
