Ex-Cotton Sport of Cameroon and Kano Pillars star Joseph Thompson has joined a Lebanese club Shabab Al Ghazieh in an attempt get his injury-plagued career back on track.

Immediately after signing the dotted lines, Thompson was thrown into the fray and proved instantly that he has the experience to play in any league.

“I am glad that I am playing football again as injuries have proved to be my greatest undoing, but I thank God that I am fit and playing again,” he said.

“I have settled down immediately I have a companion, a Nigerian who is based in Ukraine, Uwandu Ikenna, a fantastic player with a good knowledge of the game.

“We are friends already and we both play for the same team.

“Our team are second on the league table and hoping to get promotion to the elite league of the Lebanese league.

“I want to use the club to rediscover my form and seek a better club in Europe.”
