Ghana coach Avram Grant has admitted that their opening Group D clash against Uganda at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations will be “difficult”.
The Black Stars will battle Uganda, Mali and Egypt in the first round of the tournament and Grant knows that qualification for the quarterfinals is far from guaranteed.
"We need to know that the first game against Uganda is a very difficult game because we saw them beat Slovakia 3-1,” Grant told 3Sports' Michael Oti Adjei, as quoted by GHANASoccernet.
“We know we have a tough group. But also the other teams know that we are tough for them. So first we need to qualify.”
Ghana are looking to claim their first AFCON title since 1982. Grant lead the team to a runners-up finish at the 2015 tournament in Equatorial Guinea.
