Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Pule Ekstein says the fact that Free State Stars are fighting relegation means they will be a tough customer to beat.
The Amakhosi trickster was speaking ahead of their first Absa Premiership game of 2017 against Ea Lla Koto on Tuesday night.
Ekstein said they will have to bring their A game for them to claim the full three points and ensure they remain title contenders.
“The fact that Stars are in the relegation zone makes things tough for us, because they are desperate for points,” said Ekstein to Daily Sun.

“But we will bring our A game to make things difficult for them too. We want to win this game at all costs to make sure that we top the table afterwards, as we are only one point behind the log leaders.
“We were not happy to go on recess, as we were doing well. We had it in our minds that the break might affect our momentum.
“We hope to remain consistent because if we don’t it could affect our chances of meeting our target, which is to win the league title or Nedbank Cup.”
Steve Komphela's men occupy the fourth spot on the log table and a win will push them to the top with 27 points.
FNB Stadium is the venue for the league encounter at 19:30.
