Wa All Stars may be staring down the barrel of CAF Champions League elimination against Al Ahli Tripoli, but their captain Hafiz Adams doesn’t see it that way.
The Ghanaian champions look likely to be eliminated from the premier club competition in Africa in the preliminary round after being outplayed on home soil by their Libyan opponents.
The Northern Blues will look to overturn the deficit in next week's return leg in Tunisia (as Libyan teams must still ‘host’ matches outside of their own country due to political instability).
Adams admits that All Stars have a mountain to climb, but believes a comeback is not beyond their reach.
“It is going to be difficult for us to make it to the next stage but surely not impossible,” Adams said, as quoted by GHANASoccernet.
“If they can come here and record [a win] in Ghana here, what prevents us from doing it over there, especially playing on a neutral ground?
“We have a lot from the painful defeat and will have to correct them before the second leg on Tunisian soil.”
