Legendary England defender Martin Keown has accused Algeria international Riyaad Mahrez of laziness following Leicester City's defeat to Swansea City on Sunday.
The reigning African Footballer of the Years was in action for Leicester as they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Swansea and they extended their winless run to five English Premier League matches.
Former Arsenal and Leicester defender Keown slammed Mahrez, who has netted only three league goals this season following a successful 2015/16 season which saw him inspire his side to the league title.
"Mahrez last year was sensational in a one-v-one situation," Keown said on Sunday night's Match of the Day 2.
"Take your opponent on, punish him, he would have done that last year. There is a laziness in his play this year, he doesn’t really want to make it happen.
"He just plays a sloppy pass to (Danny) Simpson, which he is never going to get to."
Mahrez, 25, is yet to score for Leicester this year having represented Algeria at the recent 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals in Gabon.
He will be hoping to rediscover his old form as Leicester face Millwall in the FA Cup game on Saturday.
