With Orlando Pirates having announced that they will unveil a new coach next Monday, Chippa United coach Dan Malesela says he is not going to the Soweto giants.
Malesela, a former Buccaneers defender and skipper, has been recently linked with the vacant coaching role at Pirates.
This Monday, chairman Dr Irvin Khoza announced that they are planning to announce a new mentor to lead the Bucs technical team.
Names such as former striker Benedict McCarthy, Gavin Hunt, Samson Siasia and Malesela have been mentioned to take over from caretaker coach Augusto Palacios.
Pirates remain without a permanent coach after parting ways with Muhsin Ertugral in November after losing 6-1 to SuperSport United in the Absa Premiership.
SUNDOWNS FRUSTRATED BY CHIPPA UNITED
Just after losing 6-0 to Mamelodi Sundowns last Saturday, Khoza announced that they will hire a new manager.
Speaking after their 1-1 draw against the Brazilians on Tuesday night, 'Dance' said he cannot leave his Chilli Boys.
“You don’t understand how much pressure I have been under because people have been making like it’s fate that I will be going to Pirates‚” said Malesela to Sowetan.
“It has been made like it is done and dusted and we are just waiting for somebody to accept the money and I’m going and all these things.
“It would be premature for me to go now and leave for any other club and I’m leaving these boys here while I’m trying to build something. The day that I’m forced to leave Chippa will be very sad.”
It is not yet clear whether Palacios, Benson Mhlongo or Bradley Carnell will be on the bench when they face Bidvest Wits at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night.
