Bloemfontein Celtic will look to avoid a hat-trick of Absa Premiership defeats when they host Chippa United at Dr Molemela Stadium on 19 February 2017, kick-off at 15h30.

Celtic suffered a second successive loss since the restart of the league when they were beaten 2-1 at Golden Arrows on February 11.

The Bloemfontein side has claimed five points from eight home matches this season.

Phunya Sele Sele are placed 13th on the Absa Premiership log with 15 points from 16 matches.

Chippa have picked up four points in two league matches in 2017, with their most recent outing a 1-1 home draw with Mamelodi Sundowns on February 14.

The Eastern Cape side has claimed five points from seven away matches this season.

The Chilli Boys are placed eighth on the Absa Premiership log with 20 points from 16 matches.

In head-to-head stats, Chippa and Celtic have met in seven previous league matches since 2012/13.

The teams have a dead-even record with three wins apiece, one draw and the same number of goals scored (six).

Celtic have won two of their three home league matches against Chippa, suffering one defeat in the process.

When the teams met earlier this season in the Eastern Cape they played to a goalless draw.

That stalemate was the first draw between the teams in their league rivalry.

Celtic’s line-up from their 2-1 loss to Arrows: Mtshali, Mahlasela, Letlabika, Ndengane, Mxoyana, Dube, Maruping, Hotto, Razak, Phalane (Nyatama 60'), Zuma (Masuku 30').
