Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has lavished praise on teammates Sergio Aguero and Willy Caballero after their performances on Tuesday night.
Toure featured for City in last night’s incredible 5-3 win over Monaco in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie.
While Monaco put in a strong performance for most of the match, the Citizens powered to a strong finish to claim victory.
The turning point of the match saw goalkeeper Caballero make a penalty save early in the second half to prevent the Ligue 1 side taking a 3-1 lead.
"It was very important, it kept us in the game to be honest," Toure said of Caballero’s heroics.
"His penalty save and another one was unbelievable.
"We have a fantastic team togetherness and with this kind of win we showed it.
"We can go far in this competition but we don't want to start to dream from now. First there is the second leg to play.
"When we fight so hard to the end it is unbelievable."
Toure also singled out Aguero for praise, with the striker twice scoring crucial equalisers that ultimately swung the game in his side’s favour.
The Argentine has not been a regular for City in recent weeks, but made the most of his recall to the starting XI in place of the injured Gabriel Jesus.
"That's why I say competition in the team is very important. It makes the team much better," Toure continued.
"I think you can see he played much better – full of desire.
"That's why we want him, that's why the manager wants him. He is there for the team."
