Newly appointed Orlando Pirates head coach Kjell Jonevret says he's ready for his first Soweto Derby clash with Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
The Swedish tactician is set to take charge of his second game as the Bucs coach and he insists that he knows what he's getting himself into.
“Maybe it could be positive that I don’t really know what I’m going into. I’m not so stressed two days before the game. I'm working as normal," Jonevret told the media.
“I try to prepare the players as normal. Had I been down this two or three times I could maybe be a bit nervous," he continued.
"It could be a positive thing. But even if I haven't been in the Soweto derby‚ I have played a lot of derbies.
The 54-year-old tactician coached one of the top Swedish sides, Djurgardens IF - winning the league and Cup double with the club in 2005.
"I coached in Stockholm‚ in the capital of Sweden and we have two or three big teams there‚ even if the arena is maybe a maximum of 50 000 or 60 000," he said.
“Those games are special‚ and the winner there walks around for a few weeks‚ while the loser stays at home with mama.
"So I have been a little bit in this situation before‚ and I know a bit about it.”
Chiefs will host Pirates at the iconic FNB Stadium in Johannesburg. Kick-off is at 15h30 CAT.
