Zambian president Edgar Lungu has ordered the Football Association of Zambia to bid for the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
Lungu spoke to the media after the U20 side bagged the junior tournament as they beat Senegal 2-0 on Sunday in the final.
Lungu has ordered FAZ to vie for the 2025 edition following the country's successful hosting of the U20 tournament.

It is also reported that Lungu gave the directive in Lusaka when CAF president Issa Hayatou paid him a visit at the State House.
“I don’t know the bidding process but, as a politician, I am bidding right now. I am bidding on behalf of all Zambians. We can improve on the hotels, roads and transport,” Lungu said to Daily Mail.
“Football unifies us. I doubt anyone in the opposition will oppose my bidding for Zambia to host the Africa Cup.
“In football, if you lose, you are still united; if you win, you are still united but it’s different in politics. That’s why football is beautiful.”
Lungu is happy with the way Zambia hosted the Africa Under-20 Cup of Nations and thanked CAF for giving the country the opportunity.
