Zambia to face Portugal, Iran and Costa Rica at U20 World Cup

2017 CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations winners, Zambia are in Group C at the 2017 FIFA World Cup to be staged in South Korea.

The Junior Chipolopolo are set to face Portugal, Iran and Costa Rica in Group C.

Zambia will face two-time champions Portugal in their opening Group C match on May 21, and will face off against Iran on May 24 before wrapping up against Costa Rica on May 27.

The Portuguese are the tournament’s second most successful team after fellow 2017 finalists Argentina who have six titles.

Beston Chambeshi’s side will be making their debut against their Group C opponents in their third U20 World Cup appearance.

The Junior Chipolopolo exited at the group stage of the 1999 tournament in Nigeria and reached the last 16 in 2007 in Canada.
