Botswana head coach Peter Butler has revealed his plans for the upcoming 2018 African Nations Championship (CHAN) and 2019 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.
The Zebras of Botswana will take on their neighbours South Africa in the CHAN qualifiers and both matches are scheduled to take place in July 2017.
Butler's side are also in Group I of the AFCON qualifiers along with Burkina Faso, Mauritania and Angola. The matches will start in June 2017.
English tactician Butler has stated that they will have three-day training camps in April and May as they prepare for the competitive matches.
“I shall be bringing players in for three-day camps (we call these familiarisation camps)," Butler told Sunday Standard.
"We need to get the players in as soon as possible and get this young group working together again as we have suffered due to no International activity and ignoring FIFA windows.
"I shall be monitoring the players’ fitness and form and players shall be selected on merit."
