Swedish club Helsingborgs IF have announced the signing of Ghana international Edwin Gyimah on a free-transfer.
The defender-cum-midfielder was released by South African giants Orlando Pirates midway through the current 2016/17 campaign.
The 25-year-old player has now found a new home in Europe following a successful trial stint with the ambitious Swedish club.
“We are pleased to announce that the Ghanaian Edwin Gyimah has signed a two-year contract with Helsingborgs IF,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“Edwin Gyimah has been on trial with the team of HIF and took part in the match against Kristianstad FC earlier in the preseason.
“Now the central midfielder, who can also play in the back line, signed a two-year contract with the club.”
During his stay in South Africa, Gyimah turned out for SuperSport United, Mpumalanga Black Aces as well as Pirates.
