Although they played to a 0-0 draw against Zimbabwe on Sunday afternoon, Zambia coach Wedson Nyirenda has praised the Warriors side.
Nyirenda said they played a good game, saying his charges were given a run for their money in Harare.
The former Kaizer Chiefs striker also heaped praise on his counterpart, Norman Mapeza, who led the hosts for the first time on a caretaker basis.
Chipolopolo used the encounter to prepare for the upcming 2018 CAF African Championships as well as the 2019 AFCON Qualifiers.
ZAMBIA AND ZIMBABWE CAN'T BE SEPARATED
“I think we had a very good game today. Zimbabwe gave us a good run. They played very good and organised football,” said Nyirenda after the match.
“We would like to thank Norman Mapeza for coming up with a team at short notice that could sustain our pressure. My team played good football.
“We had a million of chances, but they couldn’t take the responsibility of finishing. We could have scored.
“Overall it was a very good game in terms of our preparations for the Chan and Afcon qualifiers in June.”
