Former Ghanaian and assistant video analysis, Gerard Nus has finally left Ghana on Sunday and arrived home in his native Spain.
The former member of the Black Stars technical team spent the last seven weeks in Accra fighting for his match bonuses following Ghana’s participation in the recently concluded 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA) finally managed to raise the funds to the pay Black Stars assistant video analyst this past Saturday, but due to his refusal to pay hotel expenses (at the Alisa Hotel) he remained in the country.
The GFA also provided Mr Nus with an air ticket to ensure that he would leave the country on Saturday night.
However, when the hotel he was staying at asked him to pay for the extra expenses he had incurred outside the agreed expenses to be paid by the GFA, Nus refused.
The GFA paid for his food and accommodation during his stay while expenses like the use of the mini-bar, telephone, pay television and laundry must be paid by the individual.
As clearly stipulated in the Black Stars’ Code of Conduct, all extra expenses incurred while staying at a hotel under the auspices of the team must be paid by the individual on check out.
Nus, though, finally paid the US $ 1000 incurred for using the mini-bar, laundry and telephone, and left the country on Sunday night.
