Leicester City coach Craig Shakespeare has revealed that Nigeria international Wilfred Ndidi reminds him of French international N'Golo Kante.

The Frenchman, who is now with Chelsea, was instrumental for Leicester as they won the English Premier League (EPL) title last season.

Shakespeare has since compared the two central defensive midfielders after Ndidi scored his first EPL goal during Leicester's 2-0 win over Stoke City on Saturday.

“(Ndidi) is young and we don’t want to put too much pressure on him," Shakespeare said on All Nigeria Soccer.

"He’s a humble boy and reminds a lot of Kante with his personality," the tactician continued.

“First goal was always going to be crucial and what a goal it was. Ndidi has done that before.

"He’s got that in his locker.”

Ndidi, who joined Leicester from Belgian club Genk midway through the current 2016/17 campaign, has made nine league appearances for the Foxes.

The 20-year-old and his Leicester team-mates will face Sunderland AFC in a league game on Tuesday night.
