Guinea international Naby Keita wants to emulate Argentina and FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi, who is the only player in history to win five FIFA Ballon d'Or accolades.
Keita, the RB Leipzig midfield maestro, has been one of the top performers in the current 2016/17 German Bundesliga campaign.
The 22-year-old central midfielder grabbed a brace as Leipzig thumped Darmstadt 98 4-0 in a league at the Red Bull Arena on Saturday.
“I don’t know what my future holds, but I want to keep improving. I see my life and career as a ladder that I want to climb rung by rung," Keita told Bundesliga.com.
“Right now I’m a relatively small, unimportant footballer, but I want to grow and experience success.
"I dream of being the best player in Africa, and one day the world. Messi is the best footballer on the planet right now, and I’d like to experience similar successes to him.”
Keita has impressively netted six goals in 23 league appearances in his first season with Leipzig, while grabbing eight assists in the process.
