Botswana Premier League (BPL) club Jwaneng Galaxy are yet to decide whether to they will participate in the 2018 CAF Confederation Cup.
Galaxy qualified for the competition after winning this season's Mascom Top 8 Cup - beating Orapa United 4-3 in the final in Francistown nearly two weeks ago.
Njabulo Gilika, Galaxy's club chairman, says the executive committee will have to sit down before a decision is made regarding the continental tournament.
“We still have to finalise. These kinds of competitions demand a lot of money. They drain coffers; there is a lot of travelling involved," Gilika told Mmegi
"We still have to sit down with the board and look at all the necessary factors before we could take a decision,” he said.
Galaxy are sponsored by Debswana Diamond Company, who helped last season's Top 8 Cup champions Orapa financially in this year's Confederation Cup.
“We will not only look at Debswana but we will also look at other stakeholders or potential financiers, but as the club we would love to represent the country in the cup,” he said.
Gilika believes that their current squad is good enough to compete in the Confederation Cup next year.
“If you look at our squad, the majority of our players have represented the country at various levels of the national team," the Galaxy club boss added.
