Spanish manager Aitor Karanka is reportedly a candidate to become Algeria’s next manager.
Reports in the North African country claim that the Spaniard, who was recently relieved of his duties at Premier League side Middlesbrough, could become the Fennec Foxes’ new boss.
Algerian website dzfoot.com announced on social media site Twitter that Karanka is a leading candidate for the Algerian team.
“We proclaim in the conditional, of course, but the next coach of the Algeria would be Aitor Karanka,” the tweet read after being translated into English.
The North African heavyweights are looking for a new coach after parting ways with Georges Leekens early this year.
The Belgian left Algeria after a disappointing showing at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
