Manchester United defender Eric Bailly

Nemanja Vidic has given his endorsement to Manchester United’s Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly, who many see as the Serbian’s natural successor.
The Elephants defender has been one of United’s better players in an underwhelming 2016/17 season, following a big-money move from Villarreal last year.
And Vidic, who was a fan favourite at Old Trafford for his committed displays in the heart of defence, sees a kindred spirit in Bailly.
"I like Eric's aggression. It is important for a defender,” Vidic told United’s official website.
“He is young but confident on the ball. Sometimes he gives away some chances but I think it is important to have courage to play at the back.
"He still has space to improve and he is at a great club where he has all the tools to improve so I believe he is going to be here at the club for many years and hopefully help the club to win trophies."
Bailly will hope to feature for United when they face Anderlecht in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League quarterfinal tomorrow evening.
