Middlesbrough FC striker Rudy Gestede has urged his team-mates to stay positive as they look to survive relegation from the English Premier League (EPL).
The Benin international joined the Boro from English Championship side Aston Villa midway through the current 2016/17 campaign.
The Boro are placed 19th on the EPL log following their 0-0 home draw against Burnley last weekend. They are six points behind 17th-placed Swansea City.
“We have to believe we can do it,” Gestede told Middlesbrough's official website.
“You have to have this positivity to keep going, every day at training and during the games, otherwise you won’t win anything.
“I think we’ve all got that same message, the same attitude and mentality," he added.
“It’s never easy but I think we deserved better against Burnley.
"Now we play a big game (against Arsenal) on Monday and it would be huge to win and give us that boost.”
The 28-year-old striker has made 10 league appearances for Middlesbrough thus far - scoring once which was against Manchester United last month.
