Township Rollers edged out their fierce rivals Mochudi Centre Chiefs 2-1 in a highly anticipated encounter in Gaborone on Saturday.
The two heavyweights of local football locked horns in a Botswana Premier League (BPL) match at the National Stadium.
The deadlock was opened by Lemponye Tshireletso just seven minutes into the match - making it 1-0 to Rollers.
Mapalastina doubled their lead two minutes after half-hour mark through Edwin Moalosi, who made it 2-0 to Rollers.
Rollers were leading 2-0 during the half-time break thanks to two well-taken goals by Tshireletso and Moalosi.
Chiefs managed to pull one back through Jerome Ramatlhakwana's effort from a free-kick in the 64th minute - making it 2-1 for Magosi.
However, the goal proved to be a consolation goal as Rollers held onto their slender lead and they emerged 2-1 winners.
The win takes Rollers to the top of the BPL log standings, while Chiefs remain ninth on the table.
