West Ham United’s Ghanaian attacker Andre Ayew says he is working hard and returning to his peak form.
The Black Stars player has endured an injury-hit campaign, notably suffering a major thigh strain when he made his Hammers debut back in August last year.
After his recovery and an exhausting trip to Gabon to play for Ghana in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, Ayew has understandably struggled to perform at his peak.
However, there are signs that he is returning to his best, having scored West Ham’s opening goal in a 2-2 draw at Sunderland this past weekend.
"I think I’m getting there," Ayew remarked in regards to his form, as quoted by GHANASoccernet.
"I have said it before, I’m getting there. I know my quality and I’m working hard and my teammates are giving me a lot of confidence. They have a lot of trust in me.
"I am trying to do my best at the moment."
Ayew is set to play a leading role for Wets Ham again this weekend when they host Everton in the Premier League.
