Premier League clubs Crystal Palace and Leicester City are both reportedly keen on signing Anderlecht’s Senegal defender Kara Mbodji.
The Croydon Advertiser reports that the two English top fight sides are set to battle it out for the centre-back’s signature in the European summer.
Mbodji has put in some impressive showings for Anderlecht this season, particularly in European competition where he has helped the Belgian side into the quarterfinals of the UEFA Europa League.
The 27-year-old Teranga Lions player was previously a target for Sunderland, but no agreement was reached, while both Palace and Leicester reportedly had January bids fall flat.
Yet the duo will be encouraged by this recent quote attributed to Mbodji: "England is one of my ambitions. In the past I have had the chance to go there, but then it did not happen."
Mbodji will be in England this week when his Anderlecht side face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the second leg of their Europa League quarterfinal.
