Ivory Coast striker Souleymane Coulibaly has been given the full backing of Al Ahly manager Hossam El Badry.
The January arrival has taken some time to settle into the Red Devils team, with El Badry explaining that the player needed some time to adapt following his move from Scottish side Kilmarnock.
“We are convinced with all the new signings,” El Badry told Nagham FM radio station, as quoted by KingFut.
“The difference for Coulibaly is that we couldn’t watch him play, except on CDs due to lack of time and his schedule in Europe, but we signed him knowing that he’s a quality player.”
He added, “Some players need some time to adapt when they arrive at a new club because they get nervous when they feel they are under pressure.
“If I weren’t convinced by his abilities he wouldn’t have played.”
Coulibaly is expected to be an important figure for Al Ahly when they compete in the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
