With three South African Premier Soccer League sides in CAF Competitions in 2017, Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has backed Platinum Stars and SuperSport United.
Mosimane is expected to lead Sundowns to their CAF Champions League title defence as they are in the group stages of the competition.
On the other hand, the 2016 CAF Coach of the Year has also backed the two Absa Premiership sides in Dikwena and Amatsantsantsa A Pitori as they are also through to the group stages of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Although Bidvest Wits were eliminated by Egyptian side
OSmouha FC, the PSL could have had four representatives in the continental cub competition.
"I'm disappointed because we could have had four teams... There are no reasons for Platinum Stars and SuperSport United not to reach the semis of the Confederation,” said Mosimane to the Sowetan website.
“Look how SuperSport brushed aside the Liberian team (Barrack Young Controllers).
"It's the mindset. If you want it, you can do it. (Bidvest) Wits should have beaten Smouha. I see SuperSport and Dikwena going through. Plus there's a lot of money now."
Mosimne was speaking to the media after their 1-0 win over Stuart Baxter's men on Wednesday as they kept their league title defence hopes alive.
However, 'Jingles' will now hope to ensure his charges bag another win over Ajax Cape Town on Wednesday as they meet in the second round at home.
Their match is set to be staged at Loftus Versfeld at 19:30.
