Manchester United look set to be without a natural centre-back following an injury suffered by Ivory Coast defender Eric Bailly in the 1-1 draw with Swansea on Sunday.
The Elephants centre-back, who has had a heavy workload for the Red Devils in recent weeks due to injuries to Chris Smalling, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo, was forced off with an injury against the Swans.
He was not the only United defender to be replaced during the game, with left-back Luke Shaw suffering what appeared to be a more serious injury early in the encounter at Old Trafford.
"I don’t know at all," manager Jose Mourinho told MUTV in regards to the injuries suffered by the defenders.
"Luke has to be a big injury, when you’re out after 10 minutes, it has to be a big injury.
“Eric, maybe he is injured but, at the same time, maybe it’s in relation to him being the guy who’s played 800 minutes of football in April. Maybe he has also a relation to that.”
United will hope Bailly is able to return to the team when they face Celta Vigo in the first leg of their UEFA Europa League semifinal on Thursday.
