Zambia will be aiming to kick on from where they left off a few months ago, by beating Portugal in their 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup opener at the Jeju World Cup Stadium in Seogwipo on Sunday, 21 May.

The game is scheduled to kick-off at 14h00 local time (07h00 CAT)

The Junior Chipolopolo were crowned 2017 U20 Africa Cup of Nations champions in March - defeating Senegal 2-0 in the final at Lusaka's Nations Heroes Stadium.

Spearheaded by the likes of Patson Daka and Fashion Sakala, the Africans will be out to emulate their fellow countrymen of 10 years ago, by reaching the knockout stages at the world showpiece.

Seeded in what is perceived as a more generous Group C, alongside Iran and Costa Rica - Zambia will be confident of making waves in Asia, but first they have to make a statement against the two-time World Cup winners.

Champions in 1989 and 1991, Portugal boast a respectable World Cup pedigree having also lost in the 2011 final to a Brazil.

Diogo Gonçalves will be among those to keep an eye on in South Korea as Portugal eye more history on the world stage.
