Kampala Capital City Authority coach Mike Mutebi has hailed his men for their 2-1 win over Club Africain in the CAF Confederation Cup on Tuesday.

The Ugandan champions bagged their first group win over the Tunisians at home and the coach was left impressed.

Goals from Derrick Nsimbambi and Tom Masiko ensured Mutebi's men moved joint with the other three teams in the group, all with a win to their name.

Media reports from the country indicate that Mutebi labelled his side’s performance as the season’s best so far.

“This was our best match of the season. We were tactically fantastic,” Mutebi.

“We were in command from the word go, pressing in midfield and disorganized their midfield.

“The players played with confidence and belief. The more they master the way we are supposed to play then we are going to be a very dangerous team.

“We showed belief that we can compete with the best on the continent. We conceded but how do we react.

“Ugandan teams usually think that it is finished when we concede but the belief that we can do it.

“Coming from a goal down and playing our way shows players have started believing in themselves and that they can compete with the best players on the continent. It is good for the players’ confidence and our project.”
