Maritzburg United fought back to hold Bloemfontein Celtic to a 1-1 draw in an Absa Premiership match at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The draw sees the Team of Choice and Phunya Sele Sele finish the season on position seven and 12 respectively on the league standings.
The two sides struggled to create clear-cut chances in the opening stages of the match and they did not show any signs of urgency in the final third.
But Phunya Sele Sele began applying pressure on the Team of Choice after the half-hour mark, and they deservedly took the lead.
Tshegofatso Mabsa was the man, who hit the back of the net in the 35th minute to make it 1-0 to Celtic as the visitors' pressure paid off.
Celtic were able to hold onto their slender lead until the match referee blew the half-time whistle and the visitors were leading 1-0 at the interval.
Maritzburg started the second-half brightly and they were able to restore parity just three minutes into the second-half.
The Phunya Sele Sele defence was exposed Maritzburgh attacking midfielder Lebohang Maboe scored with his right foot to make it 1-1.
Although, Maritzburg and Celtic created chances in the closing stages of he match, they were unable to score and the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
