Torino’s Ghanaian midfielder Afriyie Acquah is set to be the subject of a tug of war between Juventus and Newcastle United.
Acquah made 20 league appearances and scored two goals for his Italian club in the 2016/17 season, helping them to a ninth-place finish on the Serie A table.
The Ghanaian is regarded as one of the best combative midfielders in Italian football and Torino may well struggle to hold onto his services through the European summer.
GHANASoccernet reports that Juve have made informal inquiries over the availability of the player, while Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez is said to be a big fan.
Acquah’s valuation in the transfer market is set at somewhere in the region of 8-million Pounds.
The 25-year-old is expected to be on international duty for Ghana in upcoming friendlies and a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.
