The U20 African champions beat Germany 4-3 as they reach the Last Eight, for the first time in a FIFA tournament.

Goals through Emmanuel Banda, Fashion Sakala, Enock Mwepu and Shemmy Mayembe ensured the Junior Chipolopolo set up a date against Italy.

For the Europeans, Philipp Ochs, Suat Serdar and Jonas Arweiler found the back of the net, but they exited the junior global showpiece.

“I have gone through a lot as a footballer and I want to be a winner. It’s good for me. It is good for the nation. We have a vision to take Zambian football forward,” said Chambeshi to FIFA.com.

On the other hand, German mentor Guiido Streichbsier congratulated the victorious Zambians and wished them well in the tournament.

“I wish Zambia success in the tournament. We played well in the first half, but Zambia played well in the second half and scored three goals,” adds Streichsbier.

The quarter-final clash against Italy will be staged on Monday, 05 June at Suwon World Cup Stadium.
