Zambia captain Rainford Kalaba says they want to remind their fans that they are the same team that won the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) title.
The senior national team are under pressure due to Junior Chipolopolo's recent commendable achievement in South Korea.
The Zambia Under-20 side surprised many when they reached the quarter-finals of the 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup and they were narrowly beaten by Italy in extra-time.
Chipolopolo have been criticised by the local media and fans after failing to qualify for the 2017 AFCON finals and they have now set their sights on the 2019 tournament.
TP Mazembe midfielder Kalaba will lead his nation in their first match in the 2019 AFCON qualifiers which is against Mozambique at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Saturday.
"We are hoping for a good start because we did not go to the Afcon last time," Kalaba said on SuperSport.com.
"This is a new challenge which gives us another chance to go to the Afcon in 2019. There is a lot of pressure on us because of the U20 national team.
"The senior national team is receiving a lot of criticism so the only thing we can do for our country is to win on Saturday," he added.
"We want to remind our fans that we are the same team which won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2012."
