Latest information landing through to AfricanFootball.com is that Botswana national team coach Peter Butler will take over as Platinum Stars coach in South Africa.

Butler's appointment comes after the Rustenburg-based side opted against renewing Cavin Johnson's contract which was set to expire at the end of June.

A reliable source close to this website has revealed that Zebras coach is set to be unveiled as the new Dikwena manager.

“Butler is coming to the Premier Soccer League to take charge of Platinum Stars,” said the source to AfricanFootball.com.

The English manager failed to bag a win in their opening 2019 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mauritania last weekend.

However, he will be tasked with continuing where Johnson left off in their CAF Confederation Cup campaign.

Dikwena are set to face CS Sfaxien in their Group B match at home on Tuesday 20 June in Rustenburg.

Although names such as Roger De Sa and Gordon Igesund have been linked to the vacant coaching job, it looks like Butler will make his way to the Absa Premiership.
